GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute)
This is one of the first designations I would suggest you pursue. For new FAR members, GRI 1 “Standards of Practice” can satisfy the requirements for your 45 hours post licensing requirements or 14 Hr. Continuing Education. There are a total of 3 courses required to obtain your GRI designation. To register for these GRI classes, call Florida Association of Realtors at 800-669-2127.
You are not required to take GRI classes in order & you have 5 years to complete all 3 courses. For more information about GRI, go to www.FloridaRealtor.com.
ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative)
The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC) of the National Association of REALTORS who meet the specified education and practical experience criteria. This criteria includes the 2 day course, one elective course & documentation of 5 completed transactions where you acted solely as a buyer’s representative. To find out more go to www.REBAC.net.
